Eric Early for California Attorney General Endorsed by Senator Joel Anderson

LOS ANGELES, CA – State Senator Joel Anderson has endorsed Eric Early for Attorney General, the campaign announced today.

“I am honored to have Senator Anderson’s endorsement and proud to have earned his trust and support for my candidacy for Attorney General,” said Early.

“Senator Anderson has been a beacon in the legislature, fighting for limited government that vigorously pursues its duty to protect the public,” said Early. “I greatly admire Senator Anderson’s fierce commitment to public safety, especially his advocacy for victim’s rights legislation like Jessica’s Law.”

Senator Anderson represents the 38th Senate District in San Diego County, which includes the communities of El Cajon, Escondido, parts of San Diego and San Marcos. Anderson was first elected to the State Senate in 2010, and overwhelmingly re-elected with over 71% of the vote. Prior to becoming a State Senator, Anderson served two terms in the Assembly.

Senator Anderson is one of a growing number of elected leaders throwing their support to Eric Early for Attorney General. Last week, Senate Republican Leader Pat Bates announced her endorsement of Early.

Eric Early Blasts California Attorney General Xavier Becerra for Threatening Employers Who Cooperate With Federal Immigration Authorities

LOS ANGELES, CA – California Attorney General candidate Eric Early denounced appointed incumbent Xavier Becerra’s promise to prosecute employers, businesses and others who cooperate with federal immigration authorities. Becerra issued his threats in reaction to rumors of possible ICE raids in Northern California.

“Once again California’s current unelected Attorney General sides with illegal immigrants against the business owners who create our state’s jobs. Mr. Becerra has again shown that he will do anything to put illegal immigrants before California’s taxpayers who pay his salary.”

“If the business owners heed Becerra’s threats, they could be in hot water with federal authorities for violating federal law. If they cooperate with federal immigration officials, Becerra will prosecute and hit them with massive fines,” said Early.

“Worse, California’s top law enforcement official is opposing legal federal authority in order to protect those living here illegally,” Early continued. “Becerra’s conduct is borderline treasonous.”

Early noted the “Sanctuary State” law championed by Xavier Becerra and other extremist politicians is forcing ICE to ramp up raids in communities and on business, rather than focus on taking custody of illegal immigrant felons from cooperative state and local authorities.

“Becerra and his Democratic party enablers have helped create this mess and now he is threatening businesses and employers who are caught in the cross-fire,” said Early. “As Attorney General, I will end this reckless partisan gamesmanship, fight to get the “Sanctuary State” law repealed and focus on protecting the law-abiding.”

Eric Early Endorsed by Former LA County Supervisor Don Knabe for California Attorney General

LOS ANGELES, CA – Recently-retired Los Angeles County Supervisor Don Knabe has endorsed Republican Eric Early’s candidacy for state Attorney General.

Knabe represented the nearly 2 million residents of Los Angeles County’s Fourth District for 20 years before retiring in 2016. Prior to that, he served as Chief of Staff to Supervisor Deane Dana from 1982 to 1996. Public safety and reducing crime were hallmarks of his tenure in office, particularly combating child sex trafficking. One of his signature accomplishments was establishing the Safe Youth Zone program – a network of safe places for child sex trafficking victims and children in desperate situations to seek help and services at designated facilities.

“I am proud to have Supervisor Knabe’s support for my campaign to put the Attorney General back on the side of the working, law-abiding, taxpaying citizens of California,” said Early.

California Attorney General Candidate Eric Early Endorsed by Former Secretary of State George P. Shultz

LOS ANGELES, CA – The campaign of California Attorney General candidate Eric Early today announced his endorsement by former Secretary of State George P. Shultz, respected elder statesman, economist and businessman.

“I am proud beyond words to have Secretary Shultz’ support for my campaign to put California’s Attorney General back on the side of the hard working, law-abiding, taxpaying citizens of California,” said Early.

Shultz served as President Ronald Reagan’s Secretary of State from 1982 to 1989, an integral part of the foreign policy team that won the Cold War and set the stage for the fall of the Berlin Wall and the end of the Soviet Union. A survey of more than 1,000 scholars ranked Shultz one of the most effective Secretaries of State of the last 50 years, ranking with such historic figures as George Marshall and Dean Acheson.

Shultz also served in the Nixon Administration as Secretary of Treasury, Secretary of Labor and Director of the Office of Management and Budget. He has also distinguished himself as a successful international business executive and in academia as an economist. Shultz also served President Dwight Eisenhower’s Council of Economic Advisors and went on the become dean of the University of Chicago’s Graduate School of Business.

“I became a Republican because of Ronald Reagan and Secretary of State Schultz is a living legend to myself and many others,” said Early. “I am incredibly honored to have earned the support of this great man who worked side-by-side with President Reagan to advance freedom, peace, security and prosperity at home and abroad.”

Eric Early is an attorney with 25 years of experience as a successful business and real estate litigator. Attorney General Candidate Eric Early Blasts Xavier Becerra’s Inaction On Culture of Harassment In State Capitol: “Silence is Complicity”

Republican Attorney General candidate Eric Early blasted incumbent Xavier Becerra’s continued silence and inaction on the culture of harassment in the State Capitol, and promised vigorous action against sexual harassment if he is elected Attorney General.

“Dozens of female legislators, staffers and lobbyists have called for an end to the culture of sexual harassment in the State Capitol. Two legislators face accusations of grotesque sexual misconduct with women over whom they have power,” said Early. “Attorney General Becerra can act, yet he says nothing and does nothing.”

“Becerra’s paralysis shows the need for an Attorney General who is independent of powerful politicians and special interests. We need an Attorney General who is more concerned about enforcing the law than advancing his political career,” said Early, noting Becerra is silent when more than 140 female legislators, staffers and lobbyists put their names on an open letter denouncing “pervasive sexual misconduct by powerful men” in California’s State Capitol.

“Becerra is ignoring the epidemic of sexual harassment happening down the street from his office,” said Early. “The State’s Department of Justice, which is overseen by the Attorney General, should be investigating harassment complaints in the State Legislature and in Hollywood as well.”

“As Attorney General, I would also appoint a special, bipartisan commission to work with local law enforcement to pull back the veil on the Hollywood sexual abuse scandal,” said Early, who would ask his law partner, Bryan Sullivan, to lead such a commission. Sullivan is a Democrat and currently represents actor and former NFL player Terry Crews in a sexual harassment suit against a powerhouse Hollywood talent agency.  “A Sullivan Commission would be able to set aside partisan consideration and empower victims to come forth with their stories,” said Early.

“Silence is complicity. California’s Capitol political culture is small and insular. It beggars belief that state political leaders like Becerra are ignorant of the ongoing sexual harassment and sexual assault of female staff and lobbyists in the State Capitol on their watch,” said Early. “Victims of such harassment need a place, independent of the Legislature, where they can safely seek justice.”

“If leaders of the state Legislature cannot protect its members, employees and the public from sexual predators in its ranks, then somebody must,” said Early. “Attorney General Becerra’s silence on the subject is deafening.  It is time he looked for another line of work.”
