Congress of California Republicans Endorses Eric Early for Attorney General

SACRAMENTO, CA – One of the state’s leading GOP organizations, the Congress of California Republicans (CCR), has voted in Aptos, California to endorse Eric Early’s candidacy for Attorney General.

“It’s a tremendous honor to earn the support of a veteran grass-roots organization like the Congress of California Republicans,” said Early. “CCR is an amazing group of people who care deeply about our state and know that it’s time for a common sense Republican to get to Sacramento and start putting a stop to years and years of one party’s abuse of power.”

“Eric Early is what California needs as Attorney General,” said CCR President Peter Verbica. “He’s a fighter who brings an outsider’s common sense and commitment to law-and-order to this race. What is near and dear to me as a dad with a daughter who served in the U.S. Navy is Eric’s longstanding support of veterans and The Wounded Warrior Project. Eric will make an excellent Attorney General.”

Orange County Sheriff Sandra Hutchens Endorses Eric Early for Attorney General

LOS ANGELES, CA – Orange County Sheriff Sandra Hutchens has endorsed Eric Early for Attorney General, the Early campaign announced today.

Sheriff Hutchens has made headlines recently for including criminal illegal aliens on her department’s public list of criminals scheduled for release, with the intention of enabling Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents to take custody of them. Sheriff Hutchen’s action prompted unelected Attorney General Xavier Becerra to threaten legal action against her.

“I have dedicated my life to law enforcement and protecting law abiding people from the criminal element,” said Sheriff Hutchens. “Eric shares my deep commitment to public safety. We need an Attorney General whose top priority will be public safety, not appeasing special interests within his political party. I hope my fellow Californians will join me in voting for Eric Early for Attorney General.”

“I am deeply honored and humbled to have Sheriff Hutchens support,” said Early. “Like millions of people in California and across the country, I’m inspired by her tough stance in the face of Becerra’s outrageous intimidation tactics. Sheriff Hutchens is a consummate law enforcement professional for whom public safety comes first, second and last.”

Hutchens was appointed Orange County Sheriff-Coroner in June 2008. She restored departmental morale and repaired its reputation for integrity, and was re-elected in 2010 and again in 2014. Prior to her appointment, Hutchens served in the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department for 30 years, rising from deputy to the rank of Division Chief, and was in charge of the Homeland Security Division.

Sheriff Hutchens joins a growing roster of elected leaders throwing their support to Eric Early for Attorney General. Most recently, Representative Darrell Issa, Senate Republican Leader Pat Bates, Senator Joel Anderson, Senator Scott Wilk, Senator Jeff Stone, Assistant Assembly Republican Leader Phillip Chen and Former Assemblyman David Hadley have endorsed Early.
